"As Above so Below" is a captivating sonic journey crafted by Ian Boddy, released in 2016 under the DiN label. This album is a testament to Boddy's prowess in blending various genres, including space music, krautrock, ambient, new age, dark ambient, and drone, into a cohesive and immersive experience. Comprising six tracks, the album spans 38 minutes of meticulously composed, programmed, and recorded material, all handled by Ian Boddy himself from July 2015 to June 2016. The editing, mixing, and mastering were also completed by Boddy in July 2016, ensuring a polished and cohesive final product.

The title track, "As Above so Below," draws inspiration from J.S. Bach's Prelude No. 1 in C Major, adding a classical touch to the electronic landscape. The album's cover art, photographed by Wendy, complements the music's ethereal and reflective nature. "As Above so Below" features a symphonic quality, reminiscent of the Berlin and Bay Area electronic music schools, with smooth, swirling structures that evoke a cinematic and organic atmosphere. Each track, from "Quantum of Memory" to "One Day," offers a unique sonic exploration, making this album a standout in Ian Boddy's discography. The limited edition of 250 copies adds a collectible dimension to this already compelling release.

About Ian Boddy

Ian Boddy is a pioneering British electronic musician and composer, celebrated for his mastery of analogue and modular synthesizers. His journey began in the early 1980s at an Arts Council-funded studio in Newcastle, where he crafted his unique sound through analogue synthesis and tape manipulation. Boddy's discography spans over four decades, with seminal works like "The Climb," "Spirits," and "Phoenix" establishing his reputation in the electronic music scene. In 1999, he founded DiN Records, a label dedicated to ambient electronica that bridges the gap between the analogue sounds of the 1970s and contemporary styles. Boddy's collaborations, notably with Andy Pickford, Ron Boots, and the late Mark Shreeve under the name ARC, have further enriched his musical legacy. His work spans genres such as space music, krautrock, ambient, new age, dark ambient, and drone, making him one of the UK's foremost electronic musicians.
