Bach & Sons: Piano Concertos

Sebastian Knauer is a renowned German classical pianist whose career spans over three decades. Born into a prominent Hamburg-based business family, Knauer began his musical journey at the age of five and was quickly recognized as a prodigy. His debut at the Laeiszhalle concert hall at just 14 years old marked the beginning of an illustrious career that has seen him perform in some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Wigmore Hall London, and the Lincoln Center New York.

Knauer's repertoire is vast and impressive, having performed the complete cycle of Mozart's 27 piano concertos with the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra and all of Haydn’s concertos with the Bamberg Symphony, both times conducting from the piano. His discography is equally notable, with albums like "Hollywood," which delves into the music and family story of legendary film composer Alfred Newman, recorded with the son of Alfred Newman, David Newman, and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.

Beyond his musical achievements, Knauer is also known for his charitable work and engagement with current world affairs. He has organized and performed in special concerts for charitable causes, showcasing his commitment to using his platform for positive impact.
