About Lotte Anker

Lotte Anker is a renowned Danish saxophonist and composer who has carved out a unique niche in the realms of experimental jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music. Born in Copenhagen in 1958, Anker's musical journey began with classical piano studies, but she found her true calling in the saxophone and improvised music in the early 1980s. Influenced by jazz legends like John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter, as well as the vibrant experimental jazz scene in Scandinavia, Anker's music is a rich tapestry of melodic and abstract elements, ranging from minimalist transparency to dense, dark expressionism.
