Clive Osgood: Chamber Works

Clive Osgood is a British composer, organist, and music educator whose works have captivated audiences with their blend of classical rigor and contemporary flair. Born in Portsmouth and raised in Haslemere, Surrey, Osgood's musical journey began with studies at Bangor University and Cardiff University, followed by a year as an organ scholar at Salisbury Cathedral. His compositional style is marked by a fusion of 18th-century chamber music frameworks with modern melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic freedoms, creating a unique and engaging sound.

Osgood's compositions span various genres, with a particular focus on choral works. His "Magnificat," a large-scale setting, was written as a companion piece to J.S. Bach's famous work, showcasing his ability to honor classical traditions while forging his own path. His "Stabat Mater," a 10-movement work, is another testament to his compositional prowess, attracting listeners with its attractive and emotive style.

In addition to his composing, Osgood is an active performer and educator. He currently serves as the Director of Music and Organist at the Parish Church of St. Bartholomew's in Haslemere and teaches A-Level Music at Reed's School in Cobham.
