Lawrence Power is a British violist celebrated globally for his rich, resonant sound and technical brilliance. Born in 1977, Power began his viola journey at the age of eight and has since become one of the most sought-after violists of his generation. His repertoire spans solo performances, chamber music with ensembles like the Nash Ensemble and Leopold String Trio, and collaborations with leading orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, and Royal Concertgebouw. Power is also renowned for his advocacy of new music, having co-founded a cross-disciplinary video production company and initiated the Viola Commissioning project to expand the viola's repertoire. Beyond his musical prowess, Power is known for his versatility, having conducted, recited poetry, and even picked up the violin.
