About Alexander Krichel

Alexander Krichel is a renowned German pianist celebrated for his captivating interpretations of the most demanding works in the piano repertoire. Born in Hamburg in 1989, Krichel began his musical journey at the age of six, studying under the guidance of Natalia Pogouliaeva. His prodigious talent led him to become a Jungstudent at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg at just 14 years old, and later at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.

Krichel's musical education was deeply influenced by two of the greatest contemporary Russian pianists: Vladimir Krainev and Dmitri Alexeev. He completed his studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where he honed his technical prowess and emotional depth. His debut album, "Insights," featuring works by Friedrich Liszt, earned him the prestigious ECHO Klassik award as Young Artist of the Year in 2013.

Known for his earnest and wonder-filled performances, Krichel has captivated audiences worldwide with his performances at prestigious venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, and St. Martin in the Fields in London. His discography, which includes eight albums, showcases his versatility and deep connection to composers like Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, and Liszt.
