Barbara Casini is an enchanting Italian jazz vocalist and guitarist whose musical journey began at the tender age of 15 when she was captivated by the rhythms of bossa nova. Born in Florence in 1954, Casini's early exposure to this Brazilian genre laid the foundation for her unique sound, which she has since honed and shared with audiences worldwide. After earning a degree in psychology from the University of Padova, she embarked on her musical career in 1979, blending her love for jazz with the sultry influences of bossa nova. Casini has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned artists such as Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, and Stefano Bollani, further enriching her musical repertoire.
