About Bobo Stenson

Bobo Stenson, born Bo Gustav Stenson in 1944, is a revered Swedish jazz pianist known for his subtle, introspective style and deep musicality. His journey began at the age of seven, when he started playing the piano, inspired by his musically inclined family. Stenson's career took off in the late '60s when he collaborated with jazz greats like Sonny Rollins, Gary Burton, and Stan Getz. In 1971, he released his debut album "Underwear" under the ECM label, marking the start of a long and fruitful association with the label.

Stenson's most enduring project is the Bobo Stenson Trio, which he formed with bassist Anders Jormin and drummer Jon Fält. Over five decades, the trio has honed a sound that is both elegant and deeply expressive, drawing from jazz traditions, folk music, and beyond. Their discography, including notable albums like "Reflections," "War Orphans," and "Sphere," showcases Stenson's unique ability to blend lyrical beauty with intense musical concentration.
