Adam Pultz Melbye is a versatile Danish double bass player, composer, and improviser who has made Berlin his home since 2013. Known for his innovative approach to his instrument, Adam extracts unique textures and sounds using a variety of techniques, including bowing, plucking, and percussive methods. His work spans live performance, composition, and research, often blurring the lines between acoustic and electronic soundscapes. Adam has released three solo albums, each showcasing his methodical, nuanced, and patient bow work, which can be launched into chaotic and colorful sonic playgrounds. He is also a collaborator, working with various bands and musicians, including Angel, The Mighty Mouse, and St. Andby. Adam's explorations extend to semi-autonomous double bass feedback instruments, pushing the boundaries of what his instrument can do.
