I Love Noise

This 40-minute journey into the heart of free jazz and noise music is a testament to the enduring creative partnership between McPhee and Nilssen-Love, who have been collaborating since the latter was just 25 years old.

Recorded live at the Catalytic Sound Festival in Chicago in December 2022, "I Love Noise" is a raw and unfiltered document of two masters at work. The album consists of two extended tracks, each pushing the boundaries of jazz and noise music. McPhee's signature free jazz sensibilities are on full display, with his saxophone weaving in and out of Nilssen-Love's powerful and precise drumming. The result is a high-energy, improvisational journey that showcases the duo's shared love of sound exploration and their ability to push the boundaries of genre.

The album's title track is split into two parts, each offering a unique perspective on the duo's collaborative process. The first part is a sprawling, 34-minute exploration of sound and rhythm, while the second part is a more concise, 6-minute burst of energy.
