Dive into the enchanting world of Russian Lieder with Dmitri Hvorostovsky's captivating album, "In This Moonlit Night." Released in 2013 under the Ondine label, this 58-minute collection showcases the stellar baritone of Dmitri Hvorostovsky, accompanied by the skilled pianist Ivari Ilja. The album is a beautiful compilation of songs by renowned composers Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Taneyev, offering a rich tapestry of musical styles and poetic depths.
The album opens with six romances from Tchaikovsky's Op. 73, including the evocative "We Sat Together" and "On This Moonlit Night," setting a romantic and introspective tone.
