About Mariam Batsashvili

Mariam Batsashvili, a captivating Georgian pianist, has swiftly ascended to international prominence with her virtuosic performances and poetic artistry. Born in Tbilisi in 1993, Batsashvili's journey to the top began with her historic victory at the 2014 International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht, where she became the first female pianist to claim the top prize. Her mastery of Liszt's works, in particular, has earned her critical acclaim worldwide.

Batsashvili's impressive career includes being a BBC New Generation Artist from 2017 to 2019 and a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. She has also been an official Yamaha Artist since 2017. Her repertoire spans a wide range of classical piano works, from the haunting music of Bach to the passionate compositions of Liszt. With her deep connection to the music she plays, Batsashvili's performances are not just concerts but immersive experiences that leave audiences spellbound. At just 24 years old, she is already considered one of the most promising young pianists of her generation.
