Johann Christian Bach, born in Leipzig in 1735, was the eleventh and youngest son of the legendary composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Often referred to as the "English Bach" or the "London Bach," Johann Christian made a significant mark on the classical music scene, distinct from his father's legacy. After studying in Italy, he settled in London in 1762, where he became a prominent figure in the city's musical life. Johann Christian's influence extended to his friendship with the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whom he mentored during the Mozarts' tour of London in 1764.
