Ra-Kalam Bob Moses is a pioneering figure in the world of jazz, known for his innovative approach to percussion and composition. Born and raised in the heart of New York City's vibrant music scene, Moses grew up amidst legends like Max Roach, Art Blakey, and Elvin Jones, absorbing their influences and forging his own unique style. His career spans over five decades, during which he has collaborated with jazz greats such as Charles Mingus, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and Larry Coryell. As a teenager, Moses played with Roland Kirk and was a member of the jazz fusion ensemble The Free Spirits, later joining Gary Burton's quartet and contributing to their Grammy-nominated album. Throughout his career, Moses has composed, arranged, and produced numerous critically acclaimed albums, blending elements of free jazz, avant-garde, and world fusion.
