Kirill Gerstein plays Liszt, Schumann and Knussen

Kirill Gerstein is a distinguished Russian-American concert pianist, renowned for his deeply felt performances and technical virtuosity. Born in the former Soviet Union, Gerstein is now based in Berlin and holds American citizenship. He is the sixth recipient of the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award, a testament to his exceptional talent and artistry. Gerstein's repertoire spans centuries, from the Romantic highpoints to contemporary works, and he is known for his poetic and persuasive interpretations. He has led piano classes at the Stuttgart Musik Hochschule and currently serves as a Professor of Piano at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule in Berlin, as well as part of the Kronberg Academy’s Sir András Schiff Performance Programme for Young Artists. Gerstein's performances are not just concerts but journeys through music, exploring the depths of each piece with a first-class technique and thoughtful approach.
