Giovanni Maier is an accomplished Italian composer and bassist whose musical journey spans over three decades. Beginning his professional career in 1986 after graduating from the "G. Tartini" Music Academy in Trieste, Maier has seamlessly blended his classical training with a deep-rooted passion for jazz. He co-founded the Transition Jazz Group and has since collaborated with a myriad of renowned musicians, including Enrico Rava, Cecil Taylor, and Anthony Braxton, among others.
