About Noor Jehan

Noor Jehan, born Allah Rakhi Wasai on September 21, 1926, was a legendary Pakistani playback singer and actress whose illustrious career spanned over six decades. Known as the "Queen of Melody" or "Malika-e-Tarannum," Noor Jehan's enchanting voice captivated audiences across the Indian subcontinent. She recorded an astounding 10,000 songs, showcasing her versatility in Hindustani classical music, as well as Punjabi, Sindhi, and other genres. Noor Jehan's influence extended beyond her musical prowess; she made history as the first female film director in Pakistan with her directorial debut, "Chann Wey," in 1951.
