About Sheku Kanneh-Mason
Sheku Kanneh-Mason is a virtuoso British cellist who captured global attention with his breathtaking performance at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. Born into a musical family, Kanneh-Mason is one of seven siblings, all of whom are accomplished musicians. His journey to stardom began when he won the prestigious BBC Young Musician award in 2016, becoming the first black musician to achieve this honor. Kanneh-Mason's talent and charisma have made him a standout figure in the classical music world. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was appointed as the first Menuhin Visiting Professor of Performance Mentoring in 2022. Kanneh-Mason plays a rare 1700 Matteo Goffriller cello, adding to his allure as a performer. His performances are not just concerts but experiences that leave audiences spellbound.
