Matthias Bamert, born in the picturesque Swiss town of Ersigen, is a conductor and composer whose career is marked by a deep commitment to both the standard classical repertoire and the exploration of lesser-known works. With over eighty recordings to his name, Bamert has made a significant impact on the classical music scene, particularly with his extensive series of recordings featuring the "Contemporaries of Mozart." His discography also includes works by notable composers such as Sir Hubert Parry, Frank Martin, and Roberto Gerhard, showcasing his versatility and dedication to bringing diverse musical voices to the forefront.

Bamert's musical journey began in Switzerland, but his studies took him to Darmstadt and Paris, where he had the opportunity to learn from the legendary Pierre Boulez and Karlheinz Stockhausen.
