    The Stooges, originally known as the Psychedelic Stooges, are an iconic American rock band that formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1967. Led by the charismatic Iggy Pop, alongside guitarist Ron Asheton, drummer Scott Asheton, and bassist Dave Alexander, the band is widely regarded as one of the pioneering forces behind the proto-punk and punk rock movements.
