Achille Succi is a dynamic saxophonist and bass clarinetist hailing from Modena, Italy, born in 1971. Primarily self-taught, Succi honed his skills through masterclasses at Siena Jazz and under the tutelage of Dave Liebman. He is the founder of the acclaimed "Atman" group, where he has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Louis Sclavis, Ab Baars, and Ernst Reijseger. Succi's discography includes notable works like "Shiva’s Dance," "Terra," and "Pequenas flores do inferno," showcasing his versatility and innovation in free jazz and avant-garde genres. His collaborative spirit extends to various ensembles, including his own quintet and the "Terra" project, as well as duo performances with bassist Salvatore Maiore. Succi's talent has been recognized by critics, with Bill Schoemaker and Mario Gamba highlighting his potential and genius in Italian jazz.
