Alan Reed is a versatile artist and academic, born in Northumberland, England, in 1949. His passion for watercolour began at the age of 15, leading him to train in art and design. In 1984, he embarked on a freelance career as an illustrator and painter, while also lecturing in graphic design. Alan's work spans a wide range of subjects and locations, from bustling city centres to serene landscapes, with a particular focus on scenes from Newcastle and Northumberland. His art, characterized by its neoclassical genre, is available as original watercolour and oil paintings, as well as limited edition prints. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Alan has made significant contributions to academia, publishing over 180 monographs and serving as an Associate Dean and Professor of Law at Northumbria University.
