Alexander Prior
Alexander Prior is a dynamic British composer and conductor with an impressive international career spanning over 18 years. Born in London in 1992, Prior began composing at the age of eight and has since created a diverse portfolio of works, including symphonies, concertos, an opera, and a ballet. His musical journey led him to study at the prestigious Saint Petersburg Conservatory from the age of 13 to 17.
Prior's conducting repertoire is vast, encompassing standard works, operas, and symphonies. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the San Francisco, Detroit, Dallas, and Houston Symphony Orchestras, among others. Notably, he served as the Chief Conductor of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra from 2017 to 2022, appointed at the young age of 23. Currently, he holds the position of Music Director of the Eugene Symphony.
