Baba Sissoko

Baba Sissoko, a renowned Malian musician, hails from a prestigious dynasty of griots, the traditional West African storytellers and musicians. With a career spanning decades, Sissoko is celebrated for his mastery of the ngoni, a traditional West African string instrument. In the 1980s, he and his cousin Ballaké Sissoko, a kora virtuoso, performed together as part of the National ensemble, leaving an indelible mark on the music scene. Their collaborative album, "Sissoko & Sissoko," released in 2019, showcases their extraordinary talent and the rich cultural heritage they represent. Sissoko has also collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from Malian percussionists to pioneering jazz musicians, demonstrating his versatility and global appeal.
