Daniel Harding is a dynamic and accomplished British conductor, renowned for his explosive energy and charisma on the podium. Born in Oxford, Harding's musical journey began at Chetham's School of Music, where he studied trumpet. His career took off when he was just 17, after sending a recording of his performance of Arnold Schönberg's "Pierrot Lunaire" to Sir Simon Rattle, who became his mentor. Today, Harding is the Music and Artistic Director of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2013, and will become the next music director of the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in 2024/25. He is also the Principal Guest Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra and the Conductor Laureate of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
