David Kollar

David Kollar is a captivating Slovak experimental guitarist, composer, and film score creator, renowned for his innovative and immersive soundscapes. His style is a unique blend of influences, drawing from the modern guitar icons of Norway and incorporating elements of traditional instruments like the ronroco, a mandolin-like instrument from the Andean regions. Kollar's music is characterized by its atmospheric and often unnerving qualities, achieved through the use of multiple effects on his guitars. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Eivind Aarset and is a member of the horror-improv band KoMaRa. Kollar's work has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Slovak National Film Award for Best Film Score and the Esprit Award for Best Jazz Album.
