Dmitri Alexeev

Dmitri Alexeev, born in Moscow in 1947, is a renowned Russian pianist celebrated for his exceptional artistry and profound musical insights. His journey began at the tender age of six when he entered the prestigious Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory. Under the tutelage of the eminent pianist Dmitri Bashkirov, Alexeev honed his skills and went on to win numerous prestigious competitions, including the Leeds International Piano Competition in 1975, marking a significant achievement as the first Russian artist to do so.

Alexeev's career is marked by critically acclaimed recitals on the world's leading concert stages and concerto appearances with the most prestigious orchestras. His repertoire spans the works of Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Grieg, and Schumann, among others. Beyond his performing career, Alexeev is also a dedicated educator, serving as Professor of Advanced Piano at the Royal College of Music, where he shares his wisdom with a new generation of pianists. His extensive discography and frequent masterclasses around the world further cement his status as one of the most remarkable pianists of our time.
