Ely Cathedral Choir

Ely Cathedral Choir is a renowned choral ensemble with a rich history dating back to the mid-16th century, deeply rooted in the English choral tradition. Comprising 20 boy choristers, 20 girl choristers, six layclerks, and several Sixth Form Choral Scholars, the choir is an integral part of Ely Cathedral's daily musical offerings. Under the direction of Edmund, the choristers receive an exceptional musical education, performing not only in the cathedral but also on stages around the world. The choir's signature event is the traditional service of Choral Evensong, which takes place during term time and is open to all. Additionally, Ely Cathedral Octagon Singers, the cathedral's adult voluntary choir, contributes to the vibrant musical life of the cathedral. The choristers, who attend King's Ely, begin their musical journey from the age of seven, immersing themselves in a rigorous and rewarding schedule that nurtures their talents and passion for music.
