Giulio Franzetti

Giulio Franzetti, born in Brescia in 1930, is a distinguished violinist whose career spans decades of musical excellence. Franzetti's journey began with his studies at the "Venturi" Institute in Brescia under Mario Ruminelli and Dino Giustini, followed by a diploma from the prestigious "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan under Franco Tufari. He further honed his skills with renowned mentors such as Georges Enescu in Paris and Theodore and Alice Pashkus in Vienna. At just 22, Franzetti won the International Competition of Geneva as the first violinist with the "Quartetto di Milano," launching an illustrious concert career.

Franzetti's professional highlights include serving as the first violin of the spalla at La Scala in Milan, where he performed under the batons of Claudio Abbado and Riccardo Muti. His extensive experience and deep understanding of orchestral dynamics made him a revered figure in the classical music world. Franzetti's teaching career further cemented his legacy, as he shared his knowledge and passion with aspiring musicians at the Conservatory.

Playing an "Eugenio Politi" violin built in 1883, Franzetti's performances are marked by a rich, resonant tone and a profound musicality. His contributions to the classical genre are celebrated in various recordings and live performances, showcasing his technical virtuosity and expressive depth.
