Glenn Dicterow

Glenn Dicterow is a distinguished American violinist celebrated for his illustrious career as the former concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, a position he held for an unprecedented 34 years. Born into a musical family, Dicterow's prodigious talent was evident from a young age, debuting with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at just 11 years old. His tenure with the New York Philharmonic began in 1967, and he became the youngest concertmaster in the orchestra's history at the age of 31. Dicterow's playing is renowned for its elegance and fearlessness, qualities that have earned him a global reputation as one of the most prominent American concert artists of his generation. Beyond his orchestral achievements, Dicterow is dedicated to education, serving as the Jascha Heifetz Chair in Violin at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music and as a faculty artist at the Music Academy of the West.
