Hans-Peter Stenzl, born in 1960, is a renowned German pianist celebrated for his extraordinary musical intelligence and virtuosic piano duo performances. Alongside his brother Volker, Hans-Peter forms the acclaimed Stenzl Pianoduo, recognized as one of the leading piano duets of their generation. Their journey to international acclaim began with their victory at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 1986, leading to performances across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Japan. The Stenzl brothers are admired for their unique ability to achieve the "freedom of a soloist with four hands," bringing nuanced and intricate interpretations to complex scores. Their repertoire spans a wide range of classical composers, from Erik Satie and Maurice Ravel to Moritz Moszkowski and Dmitri Shostakovich. Beyond their performing career, Hans-Peter Stenzl is also a dedicated educator, holding a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, where he teaches solo and duo piano.
