Iván Erőd

Iván Erőd (1936–2019) was a Hungarian-Austrian composer and pianist whose life and work bridged two cultures. Born in Budapest, Erőd began playing the piano at the age of five and later studied under the renowned Kadosa Pál and Szabó Ferenc at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. His musical lineage is impressive, with a grandfather who was a soloist at the Hungarian State Opera and an uncle who was a violinist. Erőd's compositions, such as his album "Lieder," reflect a deep emotional resonance and technical mastery, earning him the prestigious Erkel Ferenc Prize. His work continues to captivate audiences, showcasing a unique blend of Hungarian heritage and Austrian influence.
