Ivry Gitlis, born Yitzhak-Meir Gitlis in Haifa in 1922, was a celebrated Israeli virtuoso violinist renowned for his charismatic stage presence and musical daring. Throughout his illustrious career, Gitlis performed with the world's top orchestras, including the London Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, and Philadelphia Orchestra.
