Jian Wang, born in Xi’an, China, is a world-renowned cellist whose musical journey began at the tender age of four, under the tutelage of his cellist father. His prodigious talent was spotlighted in the documentary "From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China," which led to mentorship from the legendary Isaac Stern. This pivotal support propelled Jian Wang to the United States, where he studied at Yale School of Music and Juilliard, launching his international career.

Jian Wang is celebrated for his virtuosity as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. He made history as the first Chinese musician to sign an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon.
