Kammerchor der Frauenkirche

The Kammerchor der Frauenkirche, also known as Chor der Dresdner Frauenkirche, is a distinguished chamber choir based in Dresden, Germany. Founded in 2005 by Frauenkirchenkantor Matthias Grünert, the ensemble is renowned for its exquisite performances of sacred music, particularly from the 17th and 18th centuries. Comprising approximately 30 semi-professional singers, the choir specialises in a cappella literature and oratorios, delivering performances that are both technically impressive and deeply moving. Their repertoire includes works by esteemed composers such as Praetorius and Johann Crüger, and they have even commissioned new compositions, such as the choral motet created for their 10-year anniversary. Whether in regular services, spiritual Sunday music, or concerts, the Kammerchor der Frauenkirche continues to captivate audiences with their refined and emotive renditions.
