Konstantin Scherbakov is a virtuoso pianist, renowned for his extraordinary artistry and dedication to the classical piano repertoire. Born in Barnaul, Siberia, in 1963, Scherbakov has captivated audiences worldwide with his profound interpretations and technical brilliance. A winner of the first Rachmaninoff piano competition in 1983 and a laureate of the Concours Géza Anda in 1991, he has established himself as one of the most important pianists of our time. Scherbakov's discography is vast and impressive, featuring works by composers such as Godowsky, Beethoven, Liszt, Shostakovich, and Tchaikovsky. He is also the only second pianist to record the complete set of Lyapunov's Transcendental Studies twice. Beyond his performing career, Scherbakov is a respected professor at the Zurich University of Arts, nurturing the next generation of piano talents.
