Liya Petrova is a Bulgarian violinist who has captivated audiences worldwide with her expressive and imaginative interpretations. Born into a family of musicians, Petrova's journey began in Bulgaria before she honed her craft under the tutelage of renowned violinists Augustin Dumay and Antje Weithaas. Her breakthrough came in 2016 when she clinched the First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition in Denmark, chaired by Nikolaj Znaider. Petrova's repertoire is notable for its blend of classic and unusual pieces, as showcased in her recording of concertos by Beethoven and Mozart, as well as her album 'Momentum 1', which features works by Walton and Respighi.
