Lyell Cresswell

Lyell Cresswell, born in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1944, is a distinguished composer of contemporary classical music. His journey as a musician took him across the globe, studying in Wellington, Toronto, Aberdeen, and Utrecht. Growing up in a Salvation Army family, Cresswell's musical roots run deep. After teaching at Glasgow University, he became a prominent figure in the music scene, even serving as a music organizer at Chapter in Cardiff. His final work, Piano Concerto No 3, is set to premiere with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, showcasing his enduring legacy in the world of classical music.
