Born in 1953, she began her piano studies at the age of five and continued her education at the prestigious Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest under the guidance of István Lantos. Gulyás' exceptional talent earned her the prestigious Liszt Prize in 2002. Currently, she serves as the head of the chamber music department at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and has been a professor at the Madrid Royal Academy of Music since 1992.
