Mats Janhagen is a versatile and accomplished musician, renowned for his multifaceted talents as a conductor, composer, and arranger. Born in Malmö, Sweden, in 1961, Janhagen began his conducting career at the age of 16, debuting professionally with the Helsingborgs Symfoniorkester just three years later. His primary instrument is the French horn, but his musical prowess extends to piano, singing, viola, and percussion, showcasing his deep-rooted passion and versatility in the musical realm.
Janhagen's career has seen him lead various ensembles, including the Royal Swedish Army Band and the Royal Swedish Air Force Band, where he has conducted numerous traditional marches and compositions. His work as Director Musices at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the Academic Orchestra since 2019 highlights his commitment to both academic and musical excellence.
