Michael Praetorius

Michael Praetorius stands as one of the most versatile and influential composers of the late Renaissance and early Baroque periods. Born in Creuzburg, Germany, Praetorius dedicated much of his life to the creation of church music, particularly settings of Lutheran chorales that have left an indelible mark on Protestant hymnody.
