Motoshi Kosako

Motoshi Kosako is a trailblazing harpist, composer, and improviser who has redefined the possibilities of the harp in jazz and beyond. Born in Matsuyama City, Japan, Kosako began his musical journey on the piano at the age of three, later exploring the guitar and making waves in Tokyo's jazz scene. Recognized by Swing Journal Magazine as one of the most remarkable young jazz musicians, he transitioned to the harp after moving to California in 1997, quickly mastering the instrument and becoming the principal harpist of the Stockton Symphony. Kosako's innovative approach to the harp has earned him international acclaim, performing at prestigious festivals worldwide, including the American Harp Society National Conference and the World Harp Congress. His unique blend of jazz, classical, and improvisational techniques creates a captivating and unforgettable musical experience.
