Music of the Forest

Music of the Forest is an immersive musical experience that transcends traditional boundaries, inviting audiences into the heart of nature's symphony. Commissioned by the 16th Lord of Bowland in 2015, this evocative project draws inspiration from the enchanting melodies of the Mbuti pygmies of the Ituri forest, blending classical influences with the raw, untamed sounds of the wilderness. The ensemble performs in unique outdoor settings, from castle yards to town squares, creating an atmosphere where the music of Mozart and the whispers of the forest intertwine. With roots in natural recordings of forest sounds and birdsong from ancient woodlands, Music of the Forest offers a journey through the rich musical heritage of the forest, showcasing the beauty and depth of nature's own compositions.
