Nikolo Spassov Kotzev is a renowned Bulgarian composer, guitarist, and producer who has made a significant impact on the melodic heavy rock scene. Born in Pazardzhik, Kotzev began his musical journey at the age of five with violin lessons, later transitioning to the guitar as a teenager, drawn to the power of rock music. His career took off as a session musician and guitarist for Bulgarian rock groups, notably Impulse, where he toured Europe in the late 1980s and crossed paths with Swedish singer Björn Lodin.

Kotzev's discography is impressive, featuring five stellar hard rock albums with Brazen Abbot and the rock opera masterpiece "Nostradamus," released in 2001. Beyond his own projects, he has also lent his production and mixing talents to various rock bands, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and skilled musician. His work spans multiple genres, including library music, as seen in his collaborations with Otto Sieben and performances with The Bulgarian Film Orchestra.
