Ofra Harnoy

Ofra Harnoy, the renowned Israeli-Canadian cellist, is celebrated for her virtuosity, warm yet powerful touch, and commanding stage presence. Born in Hadera, Israel, Harnoy began her musical journey at the tender age of six, studying under her father before receiving formal training. Her career took off when she became the first Canadian classical instrumental soloist since Glenn Gould to secure an exclusive worldwide contract with a major record label, RCA Victor Red Seal. With nearly 50 solo albums to her name and performances on five continents, Harnoy's discography includes notable works such as her recordings of Elgar's Cello Concerto and Vivaldi's Cello Concertos.
