Ola Höglund, born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1956, hails from a family deeply rooted in art and design, with a particular passion for glass. Alongside his partner Marie Höglund, whom he met at the tender age of fifteen, Ola has crafted a remarkable career in glass artistry. The duo trained together at the prestigious Orrefors and Kosta Boda schools, honing their skills and developing a unique collaborative style. In 1982, they embarked on a new adventure, emigrating to New Zealand, where they continued to create stunning glass pieces that blend Swedish heritage with Kiwi influences. Their work is not just about creating objects; it's about telling stories and evoking emotions through color, form, and light. From intricate paperweights to elegant vases, each piece is a testament to their shared vision and artistic prowess. Beyond their glasswork, Ola also has a musical side, with a repertoire that includes Swedish ballads and other genres, adding another layer to his creative persona.
