Olaf Bär

Olaf Bär, born in Dresden, Germany, is a renowned operatic baritone celebrated for his exceptional interpretations of Lieder and his captivating stage presence. His musical journey began at the tender age of nine when he joined the prestigious Kreuzchor of Dresden, where he honed his vocal skills until 1975. Bär's formal training continued at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden, culminating in a first prize at the Walther-Gruner-Wettbewerb für deutsches Lied in London, which launched his international career.

Throughout his illustrious career, Olaf Bär has graced the stages of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Semperoper in Dresden, where he performed at its reopening in 1985, as well as Covent Garden and La Scala. His repertoire spans the works of Wagner and Strauss, showcasing his versatility and depth as a lyric baritone.
