Raphaël Imbert

Raphaël Imbert is a renowned French saxophonist, composer, and conductor, celebrated for his innovative approach to jazz and his deep exploration of sacred music. Born in Thiais in 1974, Imbert's journey with the saxophone began at the age of 15, leading him to study jazz at the Conservatoire de Marseille, where he later became an assistant professor. His discography is marked by notable releases such as "Newtopia-Suite Elegiaque," "Bach-Coltrane," and "New York Project," each showcasing his unique compositional style and virtuosity on the saxophone. Imbert's work often bridges the gap between jazz and classical music, as seen in his collaboration with the Manfred Quartet on the acclaimed "Bach-Coltrane" album, which delves into the spiritual connections between Johann Sebastian Bach and John Coltrane.
