Raphael Wallfisch

Raphael Wallfisch is a celebrated English cellist renowned for his vibrant musicianship and extensive discography of over 80 recordings. Born into a family of distinguished musicians, Wallfisch discovered his passion for the cello at the age of eight and has since performed with orchestras and at festivals worldwide. His repertoire is vast and diverse, including works by British composers and a notable series titled 'Voices from the Wilderness,' which features cello works by composers silenced by the Third Reich. Wallfisch is also a dedicated advocate for contemporary music, having commissioned and premiered works by esteemed composers such as Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and James MacMillan. In addition to his performing career, Wallfisch is a respected educator, currently teaching at the Royal College of Music in London. His personal story is equally inspiring, as the son of Holocaust survivor Anita Lasker-Wallfisch and pianist Peter Wallfisch.
