Sándor Veress

Sándor Veress, born in 1907 in Kolozsvár, now Cluj-Napoca, Romania, was a composer who bridged two musical worlds: his native Hungary and his adopted home of Switzerland. Veress's early career was deeply influenced by his work with László Lajtha at the Budapest Ethnological Museum and his association with Béla Bartók, reflecting in his compositions a rich tapestry of Hungarian folk music traditions.
